February Show Round-up
COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE
See ya February, it’s been AMAZING! Hiya September, we can’t wait to see you!
LondonEdge is over for another season, and what a whirlwind it was. With our new 2-day format, the show flew past in a blur of new collections, storming catwalks, parties and visitors – our busiest, most confident show in many seasons.
The new 2 day format was met with success – our overall attendance over 2 days was the same as February’s 3 day show, and even higher than last September’s 3 day show! The new shorter format was a hit with exhibitors and visitors alike, and going forward we will be sticking with 2 days.
This season we’ve put our Brexit fears behind us – our overseas attendance was it’s highest since 2013, and was a whopping 30% higher than last season. Our top attending countries were EU centric, and included Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria. We also had our highest US attendance for 4 seasons, and our first attendees from Argentina and Mexico – we are ecstatic that LondonEdge remains a globally recognized pillar of contemporary fashion.
We focused on buyer outreach this season, and it absolutely paid off. We had attendance from all key buyers and retailers in our sector – from Attitude Holland to Asos, Dolls Kill to Topshop, and every independent in between, allowing exhibitors to have an extremely successful sale based show. Our Influencers Networking Event was busy and lucrative - attended by over 20 international bloggers, digital press, models and social media influencers, who had a combined social outreach of well over 2 million. Our attendees were posting, tweeting and filming throughout the day, affording our exhibitors the most cutting edge digital press for their forthcoming collections – priceless marketing opportunities with social media, in real life.
Thanks to all buyers, exhibitors, press or blogger who attended the show this season and contributed to the success. The wheels are already turning for next season – 3rd and 4th September at the Business Design Centre in Angel, Islington. See you there!
