Biker Noir: Models: Troy Roe & Romanie Smith, H&MUA: Kate Roe Photogrpaher: Ben Gibson
We recently shot our S/S'15 StyleBook which encompassed four key trends that you can expect to see at February's edition of LondonEdge. A haven for new and emerging lifestyle subcultures, LondonEdge exhibitors, both new and existing, are consistently setting trends with their exciting and versatile collections.
This season saw us focus on four key looks - 60's Biker Noir, Preppy Prom, Gypsy Shadow & Future Kawaii, influenced by trends that have been emerging in the market combined with styles we've recognised from underground tastemakers. This seasons style book has seen the versatility of LondonEdge exhibitors and the fashion forward looks they bring to life showcased in a new and exciting way.
Our Biker Noir look sees established biker babe Troy Roe, who has shot for the likes of Alexander McQueen team up with blonde bombshell and emerging IT girl, Romanie Smith. The set takes it's old-school gritty influences from the likes of Black Sabbath & Easy Rider and mixes them with the current trends sported by Sons of Anarchy and Alex Turner. All black everything definitely reigns supreme, but throw in a dash of classic sultry 60s glamour à la Bridgette Bardot, to see this trend ride the biker revival straight into the 21st Century.
Future Kawaii saw a traditional nod to the underground Japanese culture, mixed with futuristic latex cyber wears, a dash of UK street culture and even some old school manga Comic Con vibes. Eye popping colours, all over print trends, metallic madness and structured garments saw Future Kawaii take the traditional and make it trend setting.
The occult trend is still reigning strong, with all over print symbols and slogan tee's now a staple for any King or Queen of the underground, but we've noticed a more ethereal, witchy vibe taking place around the globe.
Gypsy Shadow channels a dreamy 70's feel with a dark, witchy twist making this look a perfect LondonEdge blend. Model Zarah Kofler brought the mysticism of the forest alive on our shoot.
Preppy Prom brought a Stepford Wives meets Mean Girls meets Barbie Doll look to traditional retro - doll-like poses, to die for accessories and perfectly groomed to perfection. LondonEdge have a huge variety of traditional retro and rockabilly brands, but this season focusing on a more polished prom vibe which Romanie Smith pulls off to perfection.
