Straight from Hollywood Boulevard comes L.A. Roxx; a custom design house that specialises in leather work. As well as making leather jackets for the likes of Madonna, celebrities such as Lady Ga Ga, Beyonce and Ninki Minaj have all been seen wearing L.A Roxx.

At LondonEdge in February, the brand will exhibit a collection of high-end bras, booty shorts, body suits and pants and tops alongside their collection of custom studded jackets.

Se7en Deadly also join LondonEdge from California with their range of elegantly macabre clothing, accessories, home decor and art that is loosely based on the seven deadly sins. The Se7en Deadly brand juxtaposes religios carvings, medical oddities and curiosities and forbidden subject matters to create a collection of alternatve clothing, eerie accessories and vintage-inspired art. See their full range at www.se7endeadly.com.

Our ‘best in show’ stand awards have become hot property in recent seasons so if you’re exhibiting in February 2012 then it’s time to get your creative thinking caps on! Here’s our ‘best stand’ winners from the September show and a bit about why we thought they were fantastic!

Not only did Now Voyager’s colourful open-plan stand look amazing but they were also offering hair tutorials throughout the show for anyone who wanted to learn the secrets of the Victory Roll. Needless to say, they were busy bees throughout the 3 days.

Newbies Punky Pins created a stand that was clean and simple as well as utilising their modern monochrome artwork. The perfect example of small-but-beautiful.

This isn’t the first time that T.U.K. have won a best stand award and it’s easy to see why. Bringing a high street feel to the trade show, their stand is always airy, spacious and filled with light to make the absolute most of their gorgeous shoes.

From decadent chandeliers to vibrant artwork, flat screen TV and super storage, Longtime Gothic’s stand was a pleasure to behold and do business in!

Another small but impeccably-formed stand was Bubblegum Vegas. We loved their sideboard and jewellery display and the use of bold product images that adorned the walls.

It’s been a long time coming and about time that the UK had its own Action Sports and Lifestyle trade show just like other parts of Europe. The show in question is The Ledge and is not just another after-thought it’s a show put together by people directly involved within Action Sports for Action Sports, which is what makes the difference.

The Ledge brings together a consortium of key brands within the Action Sports sector and showcases the strength and importance of each brand within today’s market. The aim is to create an enviroment for retailers to view new and existing brands under one roof in a central London location. Action Sports brands really stand apart from everyday high street labels with an exciting point of difference, which is the message that needs to be re-Installed back into the industry.

“London Edge’s plans to provide an Action Sports focused show can only be a good thing for the industry. I really hope the brands can see the potential of the event and get behind it”.
Phil Rowbottom – Surfdome

“The Ledge offers a really good “Down South” show to Manchester’s The Place, where we can properly present all our Brands in an environment which is both convenient and useful to our customers. Generally, it is always much better to join together with all brands and customers at the same place and time to fully represent and celebrate everyone’s part in our industry – The Ledge can host this.”
Tim Green – TKC

“With the constant evolution of our Action Sports business, Frixon would relish the opportunity to view and experience the world’s best Action Sports brands under one roof. The Ledge is the platform we need to make this happen”.
Dan Tancock – frixon.co.uk

“It’s great to see an action sports show returning to the UK. It’s a big market that has been vastly under-serviced for the past few years, which has had a detrimental effect on the industry. Hopefully the arrival of this new show will signal a turning point and a revival in sales in action sports”.
Matt Elek – Vice

The Ledge will also be hosting a 5 foot mini ramp supplied by King Ramps and endorsed by the one and only Sidewalk Surfer with a competition being held for some lucky winners to walk away with cash prizes. More information to follow.

The list of brands really shows the strength and power of the industry when it unites. This will show the retailers the importance of the show and that the organisers are working to provide a service to support and help the brands grow there business.

Brands at The Ledge as of 28/10/11:

LondonEdge and LondonCentral have always successfully mixed business and pleasure in a way that other fashion trade shows have struggled to achieve. This September’s exhibition is no exception with a slick fashion show, quirky entertainers, hair tutorials, a badass soundtrack and a string of skate events planned at the newly launched The Ledge Show.

The fashion show will take place 4 times each day on the main stage and centres around a theatrical tale of alternative fashion with fantastical characters. Brands featured include Queen of Darkness, Sourpuss, Heavy Eco, Pop Soda, Starline, Leatherette Heart and SDL. Alongside the models, a series of entertaining acts have been weaved through the fashion show including Indian drummers, martial artists, b-boys, graffiti artists and dancers. Prepare for a visual feast!

LondonEdge exhibitor Now Voyager will be holding hair tutorials as part of their ‘Save The Victory Roll’ campaign. Vintage hair enthusiasts can learn how to create both a victory roll with a fringe and a 1940s inspired up do. Now Voyager designer Felicity will teach you how to achieve the look without back-combing. Tutorials take approx 15 minutes and visitors will be able to have their hair styled on the day or achieve the look at home.

Whilst exploring the shows at Olympia National Hall, buyers will be entertained by a number of weird and wonderful characters including the Sneaky Security Guards who’ll use magic and hi-tech gadgetry to astound you. Epico The Dragon is a colourful fantastical character who’s loved by adults and kids alike and The Electroglide Angels will be practising their flying skills whilst bringing peace and joy to all visitors.

Jessica Drue, who can currently be seen starring in Britain’s Next Top Model will also be modelling lingerie and swimwear for new exhibitor Kiss Me Deadly. Head to their stand on Sunday and Monday to see the gorgeous Jessica in the flesh.
You’ll also find Chelsea from the Chu Chi Girls band hanging out on the Brands Plaza stand on Sunday to meet and greet buyers.

In the skate park at The Ledge Show there will be a bevy of skate displays, showcasing great displays of tricks and talent. On Sunday 4th September, the park will host a skateshop contest before the exhibitor teams give UK demo showcase on Monday. Tuesday will welcome an open-session where the cream of London’s up and comers taking part in a jam series featuring original tricks.

The soundtrack to the entire 3-day show will come courtesy of DJ Scutler; one of exhibitor DMC’s most popular and eclectic DJs. DJ Scutler has played around the world and provides the musical backdrop to the DMC World DJ Championships each year. From hip hop and soul to indie and rock ‘n’ roll, DJ Scutler will be spinning it all at LondonEdge!

LondonEdge, LondonCentral and The Ledge Show take place from 4th-6th September 2011 at Olympia National Hall, London, W14. For further information please contact +44 (0) 1162 898 249 or info@londonedge.com. Visit www.londonedge.com.

As the launch of The Ledge Show approaches in September, anticipation is building for the 3-day skate competition taking place on the event’s purpose-built skate park.

As key brands and buyers from the skatewear and adrenaline sport market come together to do business, they will also battle against each other in a contest of epic proportions! The 3-day show will also see a non-competitive display of tricks and talent.

On Sunday 4th September, the park will host a skateshop contest with confirmed teams including London’s Stand Up Skateshop, Conspiracy Skates from St Albans and LBC from Shoreditch going head to head. A £400 cash prize is up for grabs courtesy of sponsors Urban Kreation Clothing.

On Monday 5th September, the brand teams will stand up in a UK demo showcase. Invited brands including Shiner will host a series of demos at intervals throughout the day. This will be a great opportunity to see pro-riders from across the UK.

Tuesday will welcome an open-session where the cream of London’s up and comers taking part in a jam series featuring original tricks.

The Ledge Show will feature around 80 key skatewear exhibitors with product sectors will include skate-focused menswear, womenswear, footwear and accessories alongside hardware including skateboard decks, wheels, trucks and more.

Exhibiting brands and distributors include Form Distribution, Shiner Distribution, TKC Sales, Jett 26, We Are Rock Solid, 12 Distribution and Raw Blue.

The next Londonedge, Londoncentral and The Ledge Show take place from 4th-6th September 2011 at Olympia National Hall, London, W14. For further information please contact +44 (0) 1162 898 249 or info@londonedge.com. Visit www.londonedge.com.
